Dr Govind Krishna is a Specialist Weight-Loss Surgeon who provides affordable consultative and surgical services to patients in Western and Southern Sydney.
He has over 20+ years of gastrointestinal surgical experience, with 15+ years of that time dedicated to bariatric surgery. During his long-standing surgical career, Dr Krishna has performed a considerable number of gastric sleeve operations and has developed significant specialisation in the procedure.
Dr Krishna holds a Master of Surgery Degree specialising in General and Upper-GI Surgery. After completing his initial medical training, Dr Krishna underwent Advanced Surgical Training in General Surgery in New Zealand and obtained his FRACS (Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons) in General Surgery in 1999, with special interests in Upper-GI Surgery, Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, Endoscopic Surgery, Bariatric Surgery and Vascular Access Surgery for chronic renal failure patients.
Dr Krishna then undertook a year of a Vascular Surgery Fellowship at Auckland Hospital, New Zealand, followed by a year of an Upper-GI Surgery Fellowship at St George Hospital, Sydney. Upon completing these training Fellowships, Dr Krishna worked as a Consultant General Surgeon at Middlemore and Whangarei Hospital, New Zealand before moving to Australia in 2010, where he has lived ever since.
In addition to bariatric surgery, Dr Govind Krishna also has extensive experience in advanced Upper-GI Laparoscopic surgery, including complex hiatal-hernia surgery to treat chronic acid reflux (GORD), general abdominal hernia surgery and gallbladder (cholecystectomy) surgery.
Dr Krishna has been performing gastrointestinal surgery for over two decades, during which time he has treated a wide-range of straight-forward and highly-complex clinical presentations.
